I would like to take a moment to introduce our school to you. My name is Katie Fjell and I am the Principal at Desert Heights Charter School located in Glendale, Arizona. Desert Heights is a small K-4 charter elementary school which also has a preschool program. Our parent company, Partnership with Parents, Inc., is one that believes strongly in working collaboratively with parents to promote a positive educational experience for each and every child. Consequently, Desert Heights has become known in the educational community as a school that “feels like family”.
One of our many assets as a small charter school is our ability to create an environment that is safe, community oriented, and family friendly. We are always hosting special events to acknowledge our families and we highly encourage parent participation in a variety of ways from our incredibly supportive PTSA, to asking parents to volunteer in whatever capacity possible. Our campus is always open to parents and with plans underway to expand our campus by adding a high school, we anticipate opening our doors even more so!
